Jellyfish Lodged in Demand Valve

I was diving from Peter Gibson's boat out of St Abbs, on the east coast of Scotland on our annual club trip. As I entered the water I was confronted with a freeflow from my octopus Demand Valve. Not unusual you may say but this one I couldn't stop.

I abandoned the dive and, back aboard, carefully turned my air back on. No freeflow. Great but just a minute! We have to establish for sure that everything is OK don't we. I stuck the DV in my mouth, exhaled then gave it a good suck. Oh heck (or similar words). Instant freeflow and something, I knew not what flew into my mouth and hit the back of my throat. I coughed and spluttered for a minute but was unharmed. Now, looking into my DV as I should have done in the first place I spotted the problem. There was the rest of the jellyfish.
