Just a quick note to advertise one of the forthcoming courses
that the Region is running in April. (25th)
It's the BSAC Extended Range Diving course. Cost is £200
and the Chief Instructor is the BSAC Technical Diving Guru
Jack Ingle - and it will be held in Yorkshire.
ENTRY GRADE BSAC Sport Diver + 20 dives with BSAC Advanced
Nitrox Diver qualification, or equivalent Nitrox qualification
from another agency.
The course is a 3 day event, one day theory, one day at an
inland site, and a further day open water diving probably from
a hard boat..
The main emphasis of the course is decompression
techniques, the name of the course ERD sometimes put people
off, it's not about deep dark and daft diving, it's about
doing the type of diving you are doing now, more safely and
better equipped.
I actually got around to doing the course myself last year,
after a long time thinking it's a lot of money for a course. I
am now converted, it's worth every penny for the tips hints
etc you get from Jack and his team. And if you have ever
attended any of Jacks, talks, lessons or presentations before
you'll know what I mean. If you cannot achieve something one
way, Jacks' got another hundred ways to try it.
Someone sometime said you can't teach and old dog new
tricks, what a load of old tosh. I have been diving for many
years now and I learnt so much over the duration of the course
it was unbelievable. It was a superb course. I am now going on
to do my TRIMIX course with Jack in May. It's a TDI Normoxic
course, and if your interested in doing that one contact me
for further details, but mainly it's another 3 day course but
this one is £300.
The ERD course concentrates primarily on decompression
techniques but also covers kit configuration and other things.
You don't have to have twin sets and millions of stage
cylinders hanging off you, all you need is the diving kit you
normally use. But Jack will try to show you how to use it more
effectively and get more from it.
Below is a link to the BSAC website that will give you some
more details on the course.

If you would like to enroll for this course, I need a
deposit of £30 made out to J Ingle sent to me as soon as
possible please. A deposit ensures your place on the course.
Same deposit for the TRIMIX if your interested. The remainder
is payable on the day of the course.
Hope to hear from you soon for these course.
Regards,
John
